Declaring the meeting open, the Executive Director Dr Caroline Kisia welcomed the opportunity accorded by the PCCM for better internal interactions. “Let us take the next three days to reflect on the successes and how these align with our core values. Let us review gaps and challenges for better project implementation in the future. This is an opportunity for joint reflection, course correction, learning, sharing experiences and looking into the future,” she said.
At the meeting, a range of presentations and plenary discussions deliberated on issues related to project implementation at country office level, resource mobilization, financial planning and management, resource mobilization and communications. Some key highlights from the three-day meeting were:
- Piloting new project ideas and working towards innovation in programming, including setting up cross-border programming.
- Prioritizing thought-leadership and knowledge generation and sharing
- Using lessons and experiences in resource mobilization to inform future engagements
- Strengthening the organization’s strategic IQ through building a high-performance work force, especially because AAH-I is currently working on the 2019-2023 Strategic Plan.
